I don't Care..... I Do Care.

As I was putting on my running shoes this morning I thought about how I don't care about many things..

I don't care if my socks don't match, if my shoes are "worn" as long as both are comfortable.
I don't care if kitchen cabinets don't have knobs, or my light above my sink is out.. as long as I have soap and bleach to clean with and can find what I need.
I don't care if my kids clothes match, as long as they know they are beautiful.
I don't care if I have to pay a fine at the library every once and a while as long as the librarians give my kids hugs and smile when we walk in.
I don't care if my kids make a mess as long as they clean it up.
I don't care if I don't have makeup on when I go to the grocery store or anywhere else as long as we have fun.
I don't care if my kids break a dish or something else as long as they are not hurt.
I don't care if friends drop by without calling.. as long as they stay and visit for a while.. (I love it when my friends just show up!!! What a great surprise for my day!)
I don't care how much information my kids can memorize, I do care that they know how to find the answer on their own.

things I do care about

I care that my kids and husband are happy and healthy.
I care that my kids have time to play and be kids.
I care that my kids love books, coloring, and pretending more than Dora, Blues Clues, or Sesame Street.
I care that I don't miss a workout and don't eat ice cream everynight.
I care what my family eats, if I can avoid something that could harm them or me.. I avoid it.
I care that my husband knows I love him.
I care that my kids know I love being with them.
I care that my kids say sorry, please, thank you, .. repect each other, themselves and their elders!
I care that my kids don't get in the habit of fussing, complaining, whining, or talking back.
I care that I don't get in the habit of fussing, complaining, whining or talking back. :)

It seems that I am a little different. And that is OK. .... that is another thing to add to my I don't care list..
I could go on and on.. but I must get to kithen.. the chicken is waiting to be cooked, cake is waiting to be baked. :)

Rain, watches, and don't call me MAD!

What an amazing two day of RAIN we have had here! It has just been bEEEEEautiful .. I am officially ready for fall. :)

This morning after my run, while I was getting my protein drink ready Nate was playing on the keyboard, with the lights that he follows, saying "mom, I can play moonlight!" (moonlight serenade).. as he was playing Cat said "Nate come on .. I am FIXIN' to start reading our Bible story for today!!!!" (this is the second day in a row they had had Bible story all on their own in the living room.. without any encouragment or suggestion from me.. .).. They sing the books of the Bible songs and then Cat reads a story from the Bible..

The other night we were watching on highdef tv a story about men who make these incredible watches.. Nate was sitting by me and when they showed a watch that had TONS of diamonds.. I can remember how many .. he turned and looked at me and said.. "thats Geeeeeeeorgious!" .. I about died... how cute is that!

I am so ready for school to begin.. I think we will start early this year. I am ready for a schedule and the excitement of learning together again. This year we will start Greek and Latin roots, and we are going to be doing Spanish via a satellite program. Daddy and I decided it would be fun to do this as a family .. so we will watch the program and do the worksheets together on Mon or Tues nights.. (I think).. The program only costs 50.00 .. the man that teaches is wonderful. !

Today I am going to try and get the mural in the kids room half way done.. and of course do laundry at the same time :) I am ready to have their room finished.

And can I say something about mad cow.. yes I heard yesterday that another cow had it.. I think it is interesting how they say.. "this cow didn't enter the food chain" .. well thanks very much.. but where are this cows friends who ate the same feed as she did .. I mean how many people have just ONE cow! ya know.. .. So.. I am still happy .. very happy in fact with my decision to stop eating beef. You can call me crazy.. but atleast you cant call me MAD! :)

I am off to paint a sky and clouds.. FUN!

Here I am!

Thanks to Traaaaacy for the reminder I havent posted in a while.
so here is a short update

I had a wonderful last week of art camp (American Folk Art) .. studied Grandma Moses and others.. it was fun..
then four days later had the puppet show with the kids piano teacher who got the music together.. it was really cute. after that all I had left was to try and catch up with the house and pack for the trip to Lake Travis that was this past weekend. We had a great time caught some fish, I guess I should say the kids caught some fish... and now I am back home trying to get the house straight, laundry caught up with so I can get things ready for when we leave on Tuesday of next week for feista tx and my mom and dad 50th wedding ann. (of course we will get to go to see the twins!) ..

I have been working out consistantly for the last 9.5 weeks or so and have lost a total of 9 inches. I have also gotten so much stronger that carrying the groceries and my two boys isnt a problem :) (you didnt know I could do that at the same time did you! :) .. I have about three weeks left in my body for life challenge and will start another as soon as it is over with. I have gotten back in the habit of working out.. which makes me feel so much better mentally and physically.

The kids are doing good.. we did have a bout with stuffy noses a week or so ago but they are better now.
some great things that have happened since my last post:

Nathan said
"Look aunt rosemary, I made this.. (lego something) and I DIDNT use my imagination!" .... R says .. oh really.. what did you use... "Uh.. I just made it up!!!!"

"Daddy, who made the devil?"
Joseph: "God made him"
Nathan: "Daddy why did God make the Devil?"
(Daddys response is too long for this post.. but lets just say it was a deep conversation)

Cat is into writting her own books.. she did a great one that was about a kid on a boat who went fishing and then a HUGE fish gets the hook.. the next picture shows the back end of the boat on the edge of the paper rowing away as fast as it can.

Jo and friend K were in the back yard this moring with Speck and Trixy (their dog and ours).. playing with guns and pretending the dogs were thier hunting dogs.. so cute..

well I have closet that need cleaning out.. so I guess I should go.. wish me luck that I dont find any skeletons in there! and I can actually make a place to put our ironing board and vacuum cleaner again!

quiet night, fourth, and ramblings

( for those of you who care.. I think sometimes my blogs are boring.. I am not here to be miss perfect. so please excuse any miss spellings, or miss punctuation that might get on your nerves.. I like to write on my blog they way I think..I dont think in complete sentences, perfectly spelled words or indented paragraphs.. (sorry) if it bothers you.. .. so be it.. .. happy reading!)

Its a quiet night here at the house. Daddy had to make a run to Lowes to get sprinkler heads for our system. I just got finished with supper and instead of cleaning the kitchen.. here I am. The kids.. well one is on the potty, singing "America, America.. (a song from wee sing america) and the older two are watching Food TVs "Pastry and Bread Chef Competition" where they create art with bread and pastries.. amazing.

The fourth was a great holiday, I got to visit with my sweet friend from Louisianna, and her dog Patches. I also got to see my twin Neice and Nephew from Houston.. they are turning 2 in a week or so.. and are sooooooo cute! It was great to visit but it did go by to quickly.

On the fourth we ran our 1st anual 4th of July S Invitational 5k. We had 5 adults and nine kids participate.. not a bad turn out for 630am on a holiday! I ran it in 35 minutes.. which improves slightly on my time in houston of 39min.. so progress not perfection.
(just for those interested.. the youngest is still singing.. now singing "red and yellow makes orange.. that the color of.. .. of.... Yawn... Old abe lincoln came out of the wilderness many long years ago.. .. the cow took the .. (something) and she died in the spring" OK>. he is just funny... still singing.. now a john denver song.. funny kid)

I dream some day of sleeping through the night. I know it will happen someday.. surely. I cannot figure out what my youngest problem is. but last two nights he woke up crying three times.. this in addition to the summer thunder storms that roll through after midnight.. I havent had REM sleep in months.. (feels like anyway)..

Can we talk about mad cow for a minute.. Been doing some reading.. some people think it wont happen to them.. but I am not taking any chances with my kids or myself.. of course the damage could have already been done to me but I figure better late than never. I must recomend a doc. movie called "Super Size Me" its a story of a man who ate McDonalds for thirty days. Now it is rated pg13.. so no kids around please.. and do fast forward through atleast two sections.. (you will figure those out) .. I am glad I watched it.. fast food has a different meaning to me now.. UGH> ! You know the saying.. you are what you eat.. this movie proves it.

The kids are doing great. Enjoying life.. We have art camp next week (my last for the summer).. I will be teaching American Folk Art. .. We also have a puppet musical coming up on the 19th I am getting the puppets and kids ready my piano teacher is getting the singers and key boarders ready.. we are doing the Bremen Town Musicians.. for any who are interested.. should be sweet. Needless to say a busy week and half ahead.. I will be thankful for Aug. and a break from the business.

Last but not least.. I discovered two new recipes I LOVED .. fried squash and zuchini.... and a blueberry, banana, pineapple and tofu (yes.. tofu) shake... the kids LOVE it too!

I am off to see the wizard..
.. or atleast I am a little off.. :)
