The summer of Smallville

Sorry its been so long since I have posted.. I have been busy painting :)

I think this summer will go down as the summer of smallville... Joel and I are hooked on the series. I have come to believe we can just get rid of our satalite/cable and go the box dvd series sets from our local video store and come out ahead :) For those of you who have not idea about Smallville.. its the story of Superman when he was a teenager... its a great show.. some things I love about it are:

Tom Welling reminds me of my husband :) (superman) tall dark and handsome:)
Clark LOVES his family (his mom and dad) and his mom and dad LOVE him. (so tired of the dramas where its all about families that are falling apart.. this family has a Waltons like apeal.. (you know they are there for each other no matter what)
The story line is great.. great writers!
The special effects are amazing! esp for a tv show!
The sets of the show are really colorful (and clark always wheres the colors of superman.. red and blue)
====so.. if you get board this summer.. go out and get Smallville, season one.. you will LOVE It!=====

For those of you who dont know.. Joel and I have been hooked on different shows throughout our marriage:
Stark Trek (all of them... Next generation, Voyager, etc)
Twin Peaks (anyone remember that?)
Lost (recently)
Alias (for the first few years.. well until they brought the evil guy back to life.. bad writting)

the best thing now is DVDs.. no commercials! and you can pause it to get the kids to bed etc :)
______________

We have been doing great around here.. staying busy.. i am painting the bowling alley and working on a mural for the church (4th grade class.. map of Pauls miss journeys)... I also started the Body for life Program again.. I am in day 37.... The kids have had a month or so of summer time fun.. just playing and jumping on the trampoline.. riding bikes at campus and swimming a bit.. Looks like we will save our trip to fiesta texas and the schliterbaun for Aug.. (should be fun)

----------------------------

While at a b-day party for Aunt D (who turned 60).. when we were leaving Nathan asked where his goodie bag was... he figured.. hey its a birthday party.. all the ones I have been to .. the guests get a goodie bag.. (it was so funny)

The kids were playing inside and the dog was outside... being tormented by our local squirel who loves to come tease Trixy.. the kids walk by the back door.. and there is Trixy on the trampoline! just running around jumping trying to get that squirel in the tree..

OH.. i cut my hair...and I me I (as in myself) cut my hair..

----------------------------

so.. not much else going on around here.. just same old love being at home boring stuff! :)

4th photos and A Dog Gone good time this week

These first two shots are from last week during the fourth of july ...
on the set of a summer production of romeo and juliet (the kids and I will go see the play this saturday with M and her sweet girls)looking at the worlds largest Bible

the rest of these shots are from yesterday and Monday. Our sweet sweet friend Carroll came to visit from Lousianna (a very very long drive). She brought patches and we all had a great time. Patches and Carroll help me begin training trixy to say with ME WITHOUT a leash while on campus and this morning before they left she learned about staying in our yard (front) without a leash. We had great fun playing frisbie with the dogs and lots more!
