Rainy Day

The day has been a good one. We got together with good friends and I lost at a good game of spades. The kids LOVED seeing thier friends as did I. After quite a few weeks of being sick I finally feel like our family is almost well. (Hopefully Daddy and Momma will stay well). It's been raining most of the day here, a great day to curl up with a good book and read the day away. But we opted for a drive out to the lake, cleaning the kitchen, baking, laundry, and scraping the wallpaper off the bathroom walls (that was a Daddy job). I am feeling better, just a bit tired and a little cough, but my 2 mile run made me feel soooo much better.

Todays Happenings

Woke up to a cold morning.. Have I said before I am ready for SUMMER! ..
Homemade biscuits and eggs for breakfast with the help of Nathan and a sweet friend who got to come for a visit. The excitement of cracking eggs to two three year olds is so refreshing. To realize the joy in such a mundain thing as the cracking of an egg. (I am not yolking!).. it really made me smile! . After that the kids played, I visited with Arlan and then I ran on the treadmill. (2miles) .. That 5k is a day closer so I am working on getting to that finish line. After that the kids had to take a short jog on the treadmill, which is fun to watch. Then our sweet friends came over we had a wonderful lunch together and then it was time for the trip to the doctor with Jo.

The bird watching has been so fun. The Cardinal returned, and 10 dove (no PawPaws we didnt shoot them!). And we actually saw a bird I had never seed before, about the size of a sparrow grey, with a dark blue pointy crown on his head like a Cardinal has. He was beautiful. Gotta find that bird book and look him up.

Great news on the household front. Arlan fixed a lightswitch in the kids closet, my garbage disposer (which somehow tried to dispose of a spoon a few weeks ago and got choked) and now Daddy and Arlan are working on the old car. I have learned if its broke.. they can fix it!

As far as a Momma update.. I had a sore throat for two days and this morning I woke up, throat fine but I am slowly loosing my voice. (got this blog up just in time huh!) Its funny to hear "oh what a beautiful morning when you sound like E-Or from Winnie the Pooh. And of course the kids think I just sound soooo funny. :)

Oh a side note.. I have been having issues with the spell check on this blog thing.. so please read past any incorrectly spelled words.. as you know I was probably doodling during spelling in school instead of learning how to spell .. so thanks for putting up with this creative minded artist who is spelling challenged! I am trying! :) Thank goodness we will begin our study of Latin next fall.. should help with my spelling :)

Some say it is NO Big Deal

Well, we visited with the surgeon today about Jo and Surgery is set for March 9th, the day after Daddys birthday. Although it is a day surgery (hernia) it still is stressfull. Funny how we worry about our children. But I know that the Lord will bless us through this and he will be fine. Some People would tell me "oh.. its no big deal" and of course I know what they mean.. but oh.. it is a big deal... THAT'S MY BABY! Logic says: its only day surgery, you are blessed to have a healthy boy, this is just minor, but Emotion and Love says: THAT'S MY BABY! keep your sharp pointy cutting things etc away from him! .. It seems as always things like this are tougher on Momma and Daddy than the child. Interesting how this brings me to thinking of God's love for His Son and what a sacrifice it was for our Savior and Heavenly Father.
As always Jo is happy and running around like the world is beautiful! and of course it is! I just love that sparkle he has in his eyes, joy, and the silly fun his has.

Wonderful Day part 2

Ok as I give this another try and please be patient with me as I learn this new blogging stuff :)
Thought I would post the highlights of the day so far. The kids sprinkle bird seed on the patio yesterday and this morning they were entertained by some beautiful birds. They were really excitted when a Cardinal, red as could be, was enjoying the snacks. He was less than a foot way from them as they sat crouched at the door trying to remain joyfully silent so they wouldn't scare him off. They also got to see Sparrows, three Doves, and a Blue Jay. Also at lunch we reviewed our Bible verses and we were surprised to see how much we remembered! We watched the NASA channel this morning and revisited the different simple machines and talked about those and then watched images from the satalite NASA sent to Saturn. The kids colored in books sweet Carroll sent to them this week, and listened to Little House on the Prairie via book cd.
Well off I go to clean the house up a bit, run my 2 miles for the day, and then we are off to the library (hopefully). Have a blessed day!

A Wonderful Day

I got to visit with my sweet friend Tracy who I havent seen in a long time, and she encouraged me to get a blog.. so here I am. I think this will be a fun way to share our day to day activities with family. So here we go.
