Update-Art
well.. after a spring break filled with repainting parts of my house, getting new drapes selected and hung, and then a quick three day trip to the family and friends close to the coast.. and then with another week filled with visiting with the Ms who are visiting from Colorado, I have had little time to post.
I have also stared working on my art again. I have begun a name "Macy" that is in a Chinese Garden theme.. (photos later).. The next one will be Miranda with "the seven ancient wonders of the world" as the theme. Both of these should be great fun to do!
For some of you .. you have no idea that I have been doing "name art" for a year and half or so. I take the persons name and they select a theme, or idea and I get to just be creative... I have decided to try and get a website or blog set up for my art, and hope this summer to get back into doing murals. (I must first finish the kids room and I would like to do a few more in my house before this summer.)
This is a name I did almost two years ago(?) wow.. how time flies.. This has quite a bit of religious symbolism that I found through research I did via the library (yes one of my favorite places to go!) I wont go into the symbolism in this post but all the letters with images, lantern and ink well are all symbolic. .. The Bible in the background has the customers favorite chapter of the Bible. This is done in colored pencil and took atleast 30 hours to finish.
This is Catherines name. This was one of the first names I did. From working on this piece I learned a lot about my "hidden" talents (most of which I hadnt used in 9 years). I had never drawn a camel or a giraffe.. from this I learned I need to use the talent God has blessed me with.
The kids and I have a big day today. The library, the fire station, and skate and bowl. It should be fun. I have lots of pics from our trip etc and will try and post those this weekend.
Artfully yours!
