OK.. we are outside the kids are playing in the pool and nathan gets out and sits down by me on the concrete porch. He says : "wow.. the patio is hot mom." I said yeah I know.. I said.. "what makes it hot?" he said.. The sun.. I said.. "what makes the sun hot.." (of course thinking he would answer.. the fire on the sun makes the sun hot.. but no).. Nathan said.. "Well, Mom, its all those gases that are on the sun and those are on fire and it makes it really really hot!" I was so surprised! What a great concept for a just turned 4 year old.. (and he is cute too :)

Yesterday Cat found out I was going to the library and wanted to go with me to get some Emril Lagasse Cook books, of course she came home with 20 others as well.

Joseph has been improving on his reading and really building more confidence. He read a book to Cat the other night and came into the living room to tell Daddy and I what he had read.. He was so proud.. :) (and of course so were we!)

I thought yesterday on the way home from the library I would share with you some of the books and Movies I have lOVED from the library...

Janette Oak is a writer my friend E told me about, she has a series of books out and one is called Love Comes Softly. The library had it on dvd and I watched the movie and cried and cried.. soooo good.. SO of course my next course of action was to check the book out.. got it yesterday. E said the book was even better than the movie.. cant wait..

I found some great books for the kids on Art and artist.. One is call Giotto.. and is the story of the man people call the Grandfather of Italian art.. Also.. Michelangelo Surprise.. a true story of Michelangelo when he was a boy..

IF you have kids that like to be in the kitchen.. or you do.. Emrils books are great.. there is one called "there a chef in my soup" and another called "theres a chef in my family" both are kids books but have GREAT recipes.. (loved the blueberry muffins)

The next book I am reading to the kids is called the Treasure Seekers by E. Nesbit.. Nesbit was CS Lewis' favorite fairy tale author.. the book was first published in 1899.. cant wait to read it.. starting it tonight!

Update on my body for life journey.. I measured last night and after 4 weeks of lifting and running and watching what I eat.. I have lost 4.5 inches from my waist chest, thighs, and hips.. I tell you folks.. IT WORKS! ..

I guess I should go get the house in order.. friends are coming over this afternoon as the guys go play video games :)

More later

Ruthie, you have to read all of those Love Comes Softly books, they are excellent! I started reading them when I was about ten, then read them aloud to my mom. I think in the past few years she has added another one or two books to the series, so I need to start over. I treasure those books!

yep.. starting the first one tonight.. t-minus 30 minutes and counting to chapter one.. :) cant wait..
guess I will have something to keep me busy for a while huh? should I stock up on klenex?

Definitely get the kleenex. I remember bawling my eyes out when I read them....I must have also been about 10 at the time. I'll have to read them again, and see if I like them as much now that I'm all "grown-up" (whatever....).

T-minus 6 days till my last day working at ACU!!!(= (Next Wednesday). Then we're going to NH on Thursday for 2 weeks....I can't wait!!! We've been updating our blog better recently, don't forget to check it out...

I read the first one, but didn't finish the series...hmm. Maybe I should take a trip to the library!

BTW, Nate sounds SOOOO smart for a 4 yr old! I can't imagine my two saying anything about the gases on the sun. :D
