fun things today
Thought I would post some fun things that happened in the last few days.
* The kids riding in the car with friends reciting poetry. (verses from "science verse" .... like Jack be nimble.. jack jump over..the combustion reaction of 02 plus heat plus fuel to form CO2 plus light plus heat plus exhaust" )
* The kids riding in the car singing "I got the JOY JOY JOY down in my heart"
* Jo repeating over and over the words in the above song: "I got the love of Jesus down in my heart" (like for 10 minutes)
* Cat saying in response to having to clean house .. "I wish we had a button we could push to get the house clean".
* Jo adding: " I wish Daddy had a button he could push to pay the bills" ( Dad had to go to work today.. for a little bit.. it is Sunday)
* Daddy relating the kids basketballs and their different sizes to Goldilocks and the three bears.. (that was a cute story).
* Cat making a Frankenstien head out of a bowtie pasta she was eating.
* OH>> our gladiolus are BLOOMING! (oh thats so fun)
* the hours of fun the kids had with the new marble works construction set we bought yesterday at a garage sale.
* Listening to the kids discuss infinity.
* Being able to bench press 75 pounds six times in a row.. (look out 100 lbs here I come), and shoulder press 20 lbs 6 times!
* Riding my bike with Cat.
* Going to the ACU library and finding great books for my sculpture camp that starts tomorrow. (also finding my old art history book that I had when I took art history in college.. of course when I was done with the class I threw it away cause I was so sick of that crazy class.. little did I know how ever many years later I would LOVE art history!)
* As I was showing Daddy the great recipe in the Eating for Life Cookbook for strawberry cheese cake.. Cat saying "Mom, (as she was looking at the picture) .. they are using MARKETING on you!"
here's a few not so fun things:
* The laundry is still there
* dog or cat poop on your foot or on your 4 year old foot and wondering.. "where is that smell coming from.. .. its here.. no... its here.. now its in this room Mom.. .." oh.. Mom finally figures out.. its the sweet four year old.... It is amazing how just a little bit of dried poop on a foot can stink up a whole room).. (OF course to the bath we went the whole time Nate saying.. "its not my foot!"
* The birds eating the almost ripe tomatoes off the vine :(
* Nate scraping his finger on the brick outside
* Cat stepping on a rock and cutting her foot (her response to not wearing the shoes which were right beside her: "I didnt want to get them wet")
* Nate waking up at 2 o'clock everynight crying (cause he needs to tee tee)
* Those silly chickens I bought and put in the freezer and keep forgetting to take out to thaw (I am going to do that right now)
* Learning about Mad Cow.. (Daddy joked when I spoke of buying ground turkey for our speg. " hope it doesnt have mad turkey disease :)"
* the fact that I am sitting here doing this instead of cleaning like I am spose to :) ...

Wow, Cat and Jo and Nate are so smart, Ruth! And let me say this...it sounds like you already have memories that could last you a lifetime, and you still have junior high and high school and college and grandkids...wow. Sorry about the not-so-happy stuff. Thanks for sharing all!
Aaaaah! Animal poop on a 4 yr old! Now that would do me in.
As an aside, one of my 4 yr olds brought me a sopping wet roll of toilet paper today. "I think it fell in the toilet, Mom." ARGH!!!
