Money, Garden, and Cats Blog
Money. For some it is everything, for others it is nothing. I think of people who live in poor countries, some people who have never had a cent to their name. Money is such a driving force in our society. I wish it were not so. The barter system sounds like a great idea. I trade my talents, my gifts, for yours. My tomatoes for your homemade bread, my hard work for your knowledge and experience. I know most of you are thinking I am crazy, "What is she saying, life like that would be wired, we couldn't live like that, it would be a waste of time." But if you think about it, bartering is also about communicating, its about relationships too. It's also about using what you have and what you are good at. Call me crazy, I guess I was just born in the wrong century.
OH yesterday was a pretty good day. I did get a little down about how unorganized I am but then again, I am getting closer and closer to my goal of being decluttered. It does just get overwhelming, esp. when you have three creative, helpful kids coming behind you and "helping" organize too! :) So, all this to say, we are having a garage sale this weekend, and I am getting rid of soo much stuff!
After Daddy came home we were able to get a tiller and as he worked on the garden areas I worked on putting up our big tent for the kids to play in. (we have had the tent for almost a year and never put it up.) You should have heard the kids scream when they saw how big it was, esp compared to our 4 man pop tent they are use to. They played and played in it last night while we worked and of course first thing this morning, before breakfast, there they were... in the tent.
I am so thrilled we have a garden with fresh tilled dirt, I am wishing I could just be outside all day working on the garden. Daddy did such a great job tilling, and he extended the size of the area a bit. I just love working hard in the sun with my husband!
I have taken photos of the robin eggs, etc and hope to figure out in a few days how to post them... wish me luck!
K.. so I guess I really dont have time to sit here and type.. so off I go..
oh.. also ... Cat has asked for her own blog.. so I will get her set up this morning. What a great thing for learning grammar, spelling, etc! Can't wait to see what she writes about! Cats Happy Place will be the name of it. (great name huh?.. she made it up)

Be sure to tell us the URL of Cat's blog -- I will love reading that! P.S. Ruthie, I thought of you teaching the kids when I posted the bee pic on my photoblog. Thought if you wanted more for them I could email them. I also have some butterfly and flower pics. =)
Alright Ruth, we just need to pick a beautiful spot of wilderness in the middle of nowhere and create our own colony. We can grow organic produce, homeschool and walk to church and barter. What do you think? :)
